A floor for kids, another for grown-ups and a deck for all…….
the Emily Two-Storey by Sarah Homes has the lot

Words by John Merriman.

Double-sized bedrooms, big internal living areas and large outdoor decking combine with a small footprint to make this the build-anywhere holiday home.

At just 7.46m wide, without a carport, the Emily Two-Storey has been designed to cater for a crowd. Visitors enter directly into the downstairs casual lounge with the staircase leading to the second level.

The ground floor includes three double bedrooms, providing ample room to bunk two children together if needed. A three-way bathroom has a corner shower, bathtub and separate toilet, and there is a good sized laundry with outdoor access.

The real living area has been reserved for the top level that includes the main bedroom with built-in wardrobe with ensuite.

Sarah Homes Marketing Manager Helen Lowrie says the home was built with entertaining in mind. "Often when people go away for holidays they bring friends or family with them," Helen says. "This design allows for many people to come together as well as the option of having all the kids downstairs and the adults upstairs. Three toilets were included to cater for lots of people.

"The upstairs dining and living really is an enormous area and we ensured there was lots of glass and to take advantage of natural light and any views," Helen says.

A galley kitchen has a breakfast bar, overhead cupboards and built-in pantry, and overlooks the meals area and adjacent family room, both with sliding doors leading to the large second level decking.

The façade is ultra-contemporary with large expanses of glass on both levels to maximize any views. "The angled roof allows for a raked ceiling in the second level that rises from 2.4m to 3.4m at its highest point," Helen says.
