Good separation of living areas and sleeping zones means entertaining can go all night without waking those who wish to enjoy the lifestyle of a holiday home. The large main bedroom and two minor bedrooms are at one end of the home. The part of the home also includes the three-way bathroom adjacent to the laundry with outdoor access.
“Over the years, the McCubbin 3 has always proven to be one of our most popular and enduring Sarah Homes designs with customers, especially as a holiday home, says Sarah Homes managing director, Paul Neighbour.
“Our customers are attracted to the functional floor plan that provides plenty of space for entertaining, both inside and out, coupled with large bedroom areas, ideal for a weekend getaway.
“The large picture windows give plenty of light to the interior with the double, glass sliding doors to the deck extending the entertaining area by bringing the outside in. Our floor plans are also designed for function – to really work for our clients with cleverly-zoned spaced providing peaceful sleeping areas well away from the entertaining space.”
A galley kitchen looks over the living area with the casual dining off to one side. Sliding glass doors lead from the meals to a large deck, perfect for sipping a cool beverage on warm summer evenings.
Large expanses of glass in the rear living areas provide an ideal outlook to take advantage of any views.
Easy-care timber floorboards were used in the open plan living zone while carpets keep the bedrooms feeling warm.
Classic whites on the walls and ceilings contrast with deep purples in the kitchen cabinetry to give a modern, but warm feel to the home. The façade is cladded in Colourbond Windspray to give a truly rural feel to the design which includes an eye-catching angled roof.
